FTA Student of Term 1
Congratulations to Kevin Lomuro who was selected as the FTA student of Term 1 by the FTA coaching staff. Kevin has shown excellent team work and leadership in engaging other students in the football program. His commitment and attentiveness to his training has been a highlight in Term 1. Well Done to Kevin for all his work in Term one!
Term 2 & FTA Photos Day
The FTA School Football Academy commenced with plenty of excitement in Term 2. We now have 21 students in the School Football Academy program and coaching staff are very impressed with the progress and development of our student athletes.
The key focus to this Term's learning includes the development of technical components through futsal, the importance of nutrition and high performance and community engagement.
The beginning of Term 2 also saw our students involved in their yearly team photos. This was a significant day in our School's history as it marked the first ever School Football Academy at Carwatha College P-12.
All students and staff are very proud of how the program has come together and we look forward to an exciting time ahead where students will be involved in School football excursions.
2019 School Football Academy Trials completed
On May 1st and 4th we held our first set of trials for the 2019 FTA Football Academy student intake. It was great to see current and new students interested in joining the 2019 Program. All students will be notified shortly regarding the outcome of the trial.

FTA Nutritionist
On Thursday the 26th of May all academy students spent time with FTA Nutritionist Samantha Coppinger, who engaged students in learning the importance of nutrition and high performance in sport.
Samantha (who is currently the Melbourne Victory FC Academy nutritionist and has previously worked with the likes of Netball Victoria and the Western Jets TAC Football Club) provided students with information on healthy eating pre and post-game and how to best prepare for training and recovery principles. Every student had plenty to learn and take away from the lesson.
Charan Foundation Visit - Presentation of the cheque
On Thursday the 19th of April 2018, the FTA School Football Academy major sponsor, The Charan Foundation, visited Carwatha College P-12. Prakash, Sally & Jordan Charan from the Charan Foundation attended the School football program and presented the school with a generous contribution towards the 2018 FTA School Football Academy.
The Charan Foundation has assisted every student in 2018 School Football Academy with a 50% Scholarship into the program. We would like to thank the entire Charan Foundation for their ongoing support of the football academy and assisting all students in the program.
