WW1 MURAL & EDUCATIONAL SPACE
OPENING CEREMONY
Lilydale High School’s WW1 Mural and Educational Space was officially unveiled on Thursday 9 April by the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education the Hon James Merlino.
The mural was designed and painted by local artist, Brad Colling with the assistance of students. It loosely follows the story of Ralph Goode, the first man in Lilydale to enlist in the war as a stretcher bearer. The image and letters from Sister Evelyn Davies of Healesville are also included in the mural story.
A dedicated website has been created to link to the mural and provide educational materials for students and staff to utilise. The website is an ongoing project that staff and students will contribute to in the coming years.
