Lasallian Youth

LYLs
The Lasallian Youth Leaders (LYLs) are a group of students passionate about social justice, school community and Lasallian faith. The group formed from Year 10-12 students are encouraged to create new opportunities and assist around the College wherever possible and this year 60 odd LYLs have done some impressive work.
Our main focus for term 2 has been our Year 7 Retreats titled ‘Lasallian Life’. The day introduces the newly formed Beda Boys to what it means to be a student of Faith, Service and Community. The fun filled day saw our LYLs running small groups and coordinating discussions on the Lasallian founder, St John Baptist De La Salle. Retreats are a great opportunities for students of multiple year levels to interact and strengthen the College community.
Upcoming for the LYLs:
Year 9 Retreat
This year the Year 9 retreat will focus on “Modern Morals” preparing the students for tough decisions in the future. The day will be assisted by the presence of 2 Youth Ministers from
St Michaels College, Adelaide, a Lasallian school with great levels of involvement and passion. Nadia Loprete and Calia Sandona will be a great addition to the team.
Lasallian Youth Gathering
Every 2-3 years the ANZPPNG Lasallian District runs a gathering for young Adults. This year the event will run in Sydney during the second week of the school holidays where two St Bede’s College students will attend, Chester Ryan (Yr 10) and Laurence Welford (Yr 12, Lasalle Vice Captain). With the theme of “Answering the Call” the gathering is designed to unite Lasallians and form relationships for future endeavors.
