Senior School

Year in Reflection

The Senior School students have participated in a range of programs and sessions, designed to assist their development both here at school and in the community; these have included Elevate study seminars, camps, sports, Keys Please and safe driving courses, as well as Careers sessions and tertiary visits.  I would like to thank all staff who organised, supervised and gave class time to these sessions.  They are invaluable for our students in their lifelong learning

Unit 3&4 Results Release – Friday 14 December 2018

While it is almost the end of the year, it is also a very nervous time for our Year 12 students who will receive their VCE results on Friday 14 December.  We encourage all Year 12 students who wish to change their preference order to make appointments with Mrs Haines in Careers and to come in for morning tea on Friday.

We, in the Senior School team, would also like to congratulate the Year 12 Class of 2018 for their work and effort throughout the year – you have been a great group to work with!  Please remember that you are not defined by your results; there is always a way to your desired career if you are determined and persistent in your approach.

Return to School 2019

Year 12 students will commence 2019 on Wednesday 30 January, with Year 10 and Year 11 students commencing on Thursday 31 January.  Any Year 11 student completing a Unit 3&4 enhancement subject who has class on Wednesday 30 January is expected to attend that class.

All students must ensure that holiday homework is completed to a high standard and that they come to school ready to learn and do their best.

Year 12 students will then attend their Residential Study Skills camp at Ormond College on Monday 4 February and Tuesday 5 February.  This is a compulsory camp for students to attend, as VCE students will participate in sessions about boosting their English results and calculating their ATAR, while VCAL students will participate in the first sessions and excursions related to their year-long project, Sustainability.  All forms and payments need to be finalised and returned to the College prior to Wednesday 19 December 2018.  We thank those families that have already attended to these matters.

VCAL students are reminded of the importance of their VET courses and work placements; these are mandatory requirements for satisfactory completion of the VCAL.  These can be organised with Mrs Haines in the Careers office.

Finally, on behalf of the Senior School team, I wish all students and their families a restful and relaxing break and I look forward to working with our Senior School students in 2019.
