Year 12 Camp

University Visits

On July 17 and 18 students from Year 12 headed to Melbourne with Mrs Linehan, Mrs Gallacher and Mr Sirett to experience six universities and their environments.

Our first stop was Victoria University, which has a new first model. This seems appealing to students and is having some great outcomes. The model allows students to complete one unit over a four week period with all assessments at the end of the four weeks. This enables students to intensely study one subject area at a time.

RMIT gave students a work shop on time management and a tour of their city campus.  The University of Melbourne showed us accommodation options and dinner at University College, with a presentation on the University of Melbourne's many scholarships and courses available.

On day two we had a huge day of walking over the three largest campuses: Monash University, Clayton; Deakin University, Burwood and Latrobe University, Bundoora.  Each university presented current students and their varied pathways. All three showed student accommodation options and gave campus tours.
