2019 Wrap Up

College Year Book/Magazine

The College magazine has arrived in the school and is an excellent reflection of the 2019 year.  Special thanks to Mr Gene Easton and his student led magazine committee for the fantastic job they have done.  This team goes above and beyond and works throughout the year at lunchtime and after school to get the job done.

Unfortunately this year they were completed too late to distribute to students.  As a result we will be handing them out to students in the new year.  The Year 12 students will be able to collect their copy at the alumni assembly in term 1.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

Semester 2 Reports

Semester 2 Reports are now available for families via Compass. Reports can be accessed by going to your child's dashboard and selecting the 'Reports' tab.

Semester reports have been designed to provide students and their families with a snap shot of the students progress throughout the semester. Some of the key features within the report  identify the students work habits, their learning progress, achievement of learning intentions/outcomes and a summary of the student's Common Assessment Items (CAI) and School Assessed Coursework (SAC).  As we use ongoing reporting, families are able to access further details and teacher feedback on CAIs, SACs and Learning Tasks via Compass progressively throughout the year. The end of the school year is a great time for students and their families to reflect upon their report and their learning for the year and to plan future learning goals for 2020.

Academic Excellence Awards

Academic Excellence Awards are awarded to students who achieved academic excellence within a subject. A number of these awards were presented to students at the College Awards Night in early December. For those students who have been awarded an Academic Excellence Award for a subject and did not receive it at the Awards Night, you will receive your award early in 2020 via your home group. We would like to congratulate all students who received an Academic Excellence Award for their commitment to learning.  This is a fantastic achievement and one that should be celebrated.

End of Year Activities

This week our year 7 - 9 students have been involved in an exciting End of Year Activities program that involved a range of activities both inside and outside of the College. Students participated in Sports Carnivals, an Amazing Race, trips to Scienceworks, Healesville Sanctuary, the cinemas and Luna Park, made sound boxes and constructed gardens to name a few. The hot weather presented a few challenges, however, our students and staff took on this challenge to ensure that all of our students had a great activities week. I would like to thank all of our teachers for organising the events, in particular Ms Tamara Mason, Ms Janine Sanderson and Mr James Anderson for their leadership and organisation of the End of Year Activities Program.

The Falcon - College magazine

This year we have once again produced our annual college magazine The Falcon. The Falcon is a compilation of various highlights throughout the year, documenting those key events and milestones from 2019. When you look through The Falcon you get a real insight into all of the amazing opportunities our students have had to discover their passions, explore their interests and to challenge themselves in range of academic and extra- curricular programs. I would like to thank Mr Gene Easton for his leadership in the production of The Falcon this year and to his team of students who assisted in its creative development and publication.

Holiday Wishes

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff, students and families for their ongoing support of the college this year.

Please have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break and we look forward to us all working together once again in 2020 to support the growth, learning and wellbeing of our students.
