Equestrian

Our riders have been out and about competing in many different events despite the weather! Congratulations to our Equestrian Captain Annabel Mould who won Best retired all-rounder sport horse “off the track” at the Magic Millions Naracoorte Show on the weekend.
Zoe Weinberg riding Karlena Heresay also had great success placing as Supreme Led Exhibit at Dimboola Ag Show on Saturday 15th October in addition to 3 champion prizes over the course of the day!
Zoe also had great success at the recent Royal Melbourne Show and placed second in the Open Show Hunter Pony over 13 hh n.e 13.2. An outstanding effort, well done Zoe.
Jack Addinsall (Grade 5) represented the school at the recent King’s College Inter School Games at Warrnambool last Friday. He rode well and was in a competitive group. He placed 6th overall. Well done Jack, a great effort!

The Horsemanship Dinner for 2016 will be held on the evening of the 5th December at Café Catalpa in Tarrington. Please save the date for those of you who are involved with Horsemanship and Equestrian at THAC. Further details to come.
The Casterton Secondary College Interschool Showjumping Championships has been cancelled due to the conditions brought on by the wet spring weather.
Equestrian Parent Committee meeting
Thank you to those parents who eagerly came along to our last parent meeting. We are planning to form an Equestrian Committee at the next meeting, so if there are any parents who might be interested in in this and participating in the further development of Horsemanship and Equestrian activities/events at our Equestrian Centre, please come along for a coffee and a chat at the next meeting on Thursday 3rd November at the Roxburgh Café – Thompson Street Hamilton, at 1:15pm. The Saddleworld VEIS Grand Final will be held on the 6th and 7th of August at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre.
Please note any horses which are regularly coming to and from the Hamilton and Alexandra College Equestrian Centre must be up to date with vaccinations for Tetanus and Strangles and records of these will be maintained to ensure the biosecurity of the centre. You must also notify the Director of Horsemanship immediately if your horse has been in or originated from Queensland or Northern New South Wales. Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions.
