Junior School News

We have now completed 3 weeks of remote learning which we feel has gone remarkably well. We are exceptionally proud of the attendance rate of the Year 7-9 students in our cohorts for the motivation and dedication they are showing to their studies. We commend our students on their communication skills and their work ethic in staying up to date with their school work and in constant communication with their teachers.

We thank our students and their parents/guardians for the feedback we in the Junior School have been receiving which we have found to be extremely positive. We understand though that there are still some issues that students and their families are facing with remote learning in regards to accessing the curriculum as well as technical issues with their laptop or the programs being utilised in class. We thank you for your patience during this time.

We just want to remind you that we are here to support you and welcome all feedback. We love hearing from our students and their families about the work you have been completing during remote learning as well as hearing about the different things you have been doing with your family during isolation to keep yourselves happy and healthy. We invite you to send through any photos of yourself completing remote learning, as well as photos of your family, your pets and the things you have been doing at home.

Here are some pictures of what the Junior School team has been doing from their homes.

  • Miss Triance has been doing lots of puzzles, starting a painting, reading a book, and taking her new puppy Lexi on lots of walks. She is really missing her nephew and can't wait to see him and give him a big cuddle. She's been cheering him on over video chats while he has been taking his first steps.
  • Mr Heading has also been doing a lot of puzzles but in his house he and his wife compete for who can complete their puzzle the fastest. She is much faster than he is! He has also been arranging regular video chats with his friends and tonight they're all cooking carbonara together so it feels like a communal meal. Mr Heading is sometimes joined by his assistant Jaeger during his Webex meetings.
  • Mr Harber has set up his own home studio, it has guitars, basses and a drum kit which he has been using for his instrumental and class music lessons. During his spare time he has also been playing lots of games on his Xbox with his friends online and hanging out with his dog Penny.
  • Mr Ellul has been practicing his class notes with his Iso-Pal Pumba. He has managed to keep himself occupied by playing tea party with his daughter and building her a cubby house. To keep fit he has been taking Pumba on long walks. He has also found his old lego sets and has decided to build them all! His wife loves that idea! He can't wait to see all his students in person!
