Faith and Mission

Words from the MSC:

In what we describe now as a “normal year”, we would have participated in many liturgies and masses at Monivae College. During each of these special events, we have two banners that are there for all to see.

The first reads “Remember the power of love”, and the second “to be on earth the heart of God”

Both of these messages come from the MSC and are a good reminder of how we can go about living our lives.

Mission Fair Day

We normally finish term three with Mission Fair day, which is a wonderful celebration for our students, and also a reminder of the importance of the two messages above. Our students would raise funds (historically upwards of $8000) that we give away to various groups and charities. We are looking at running some activities in term four that help us raise much needed funds, as well as satisfy the Covid 19 rules and regulations. Please keep an eye out for further information as it comes to hand.

As well as raising funds, our students also learn the message of Catholic Social Teaching.

As you can see from the picture, Catholic Social Teaching is more than fundraising, it is about education and doing what is right.

This message is an important one, and something that Monivae continues to teach throughout each year.

Our students have participated in an online liturgy for Mission Fair, which can be found here. Mission Fair Day Liturgy 2020

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
