Assistant Principal's News

Dear parents,

Firstly, I just want to acknowledge the wonderful job you are doing in what is an increasingly challenging time.  I understand how the strain of work, parenting and teaching is accumulating in what seems to be the longest term in history!! I do look forward to this week’s announcement by the premier to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Having said that, as a school we are trying to change our delivery in the last three weeks with an emphasis on wellbeing through Cultural Day today, Footy Day and an MPS Challenge Day!

I would really recommend for everyone’s sanity, if you are struggling with your child/ren completing work, please prioritise or come to some sort of compromise. "If you do … then you can … "

I encourage all of the Malvern family to visit our Remote Learning Wellbeing Portal, http://www.malvernps.vic.edu.au/remote-learning/.  It has parent strategies, student wellbeing and motivation, a parent help line and a Webinar from Dr Justine Coultson about lightening the lockdown load. There are a lot of helpful hints and strategies which are designed to help empower the parent when they feel like their child/ren are becoming a handful, god bless them.

I will leave you today with Plato’s view on education “Do not train children to learn by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.“

Stay safe and stay strong.
