Grade 6 Term 3 in Reflection
Along with daily reading, writing and mathematics assignments, the Grade 6 group enjoyed a variety of programs. Miss Knowles put together 3 amazing, immersive incursions focusing on integrated topics; Our Solar System, Natural Disasters and an online visit to the Melbourne Zoo. Students were introduced to ‘Genius Hour’ which proved to be very popular. The quality of student work left teachers and students inspired.
The grade 6 teachers and students can all agree that their ICT skills that they can apply to a diversity of programs has advanced more than they could have imagined.
Plenty to smile about from a most productive Term 3. Well done Year 6!
The highlight of term 4 is the Genius Hour I've done. Doing something I love like writing was really fun for me and I hope high school has this activity too!

The highlight of this term for me was the online excursions because they were fun and interesting activities where we could work with others. My favourite activity was the escape room where my team and I managed to crack all the codes within the time limit.

The highlight of the term for me was a project that we did on Genius hour, it was about something we are passionate about. We had a couple of weeks on the project and learnt a lot during the process of getting it complete.

The highlight of Term 3 was probably all the fun virtual excursions we got to do because of all the activities we did. Working in groups to do challenges in the excursions was also good, we'd try to figure out puzzles which was good since we haven't seen our friends for so long.

This term was different to Term 2 remote learning as we had a different teacher. The highlights of Term 3 were the excursions/incursions, there was more interactive activities in student groups and with teachers which I really liked. I was more confidence with remote learning this term. Even though we had more interactive activities, I still missed my friends.

A highlight of the term has been seeing and chatting to all my classmates online. Being in my own work environment can feel very isolated. But when I see everyone in our webex sessions it feels like I'm in the classroom environment.

This term was fun. I enjoyed doing the incursions with my friends and working in groups. It’s nice to catch up with friends in meetings, since we can’t meet face to face. The work has been great and even fun! I love to do our grade 6 Kahoots each Friday, and always try to win but don’t. Still it is great fun! I miss school so much and can’t wait to get back soon.

My highlight was this week when Miss Knowles organized an excursion about space! We all learnt tones of things and at the same time had heaps of fun exploring space with our friends. We can’t thank the teachers enough for their hard work they put into making each day exciting and engaging!

The thing that glows from this terms is, the MOON writing. In this assignment we created a story that is connected to the Moon or space. Throughout the story we got to use our own imagination. I really enjoyed this task because we got to choose our own problem and we didn't have a set scene so we could do whatever we wanted.
