Kempsey High School Attendance Support

The Kempsey High School Attendance Team has now started monitoring unexplained absences from class every period. Those students present at school but not marked in class will have an SMS sent to their parent/carers. This SMS will ask them to speak with their child about their absence from class and contact the school for further support and information if required. Teachers will also monitor any patterns of unexplained absence and work with the student to resolve the issues. The behaviour matrix of expected behaviours will be applied to determine the appropriate follow-up action required.

If you would like support with your child’s attendance you can contact the school to speak with our Head Teacher Wellbeing, Leesa Field. Further information regarding attendance can be viewed on the Department of Education website, found though the link below,

Emotional Assertiveness Training

The staff and students at KHS will be undertaking Emotional Assertiveness training together. This is a fabulous opportunity for our school to grow together.
