Boarding House
Boarder of the Week.
Each week we celebrate Boarder of the Week. This is a certificate of appreciation to a boarder who has contributed to the overall positive culture of the House. I’m so pleased to see these certificates, pinned up in in boarders’ rooms, displayed proudly.
The certificate is also a reminder to boarders that they can be recognised for all manner of contributions that we notice. Boarders have been recognised for leadership, study skills, getting the job done, having a consistently clean room, or helping others who are new the House.
Showing our gratitude to our boarders is just one way we can encourage collective gratitude amongst the entire House. This week, we say well done to Rosie Dunn.
Rosie started boarding this year. She quietly goes about her business involving herself with equestrian, friendships and study. This is her story…..
"I started boarding at College at the beginning of this year, and so far, my experience has been great. I have had the chance to meet and make many new friends. I am very lucky that I can keep one of my horses, Rocket, here at school and to live so close to the Equestrian Centre. Although there have been many fun times, there has also been some slightly harder ones - such as being far away from home and learning the new routine. But at the end of the day, the weekend is never too far off and I can go home if I need some family time.
I love having a roommate even if it means getting back from horses at 7:30am and the lights are still off and she’s snoring away. But if she is ever away, I missed her so much! I appreciate the opportunities I receive at College as it offers subjects that I never dreamt of being a possibility, such as Equine Studies and the amazing music program. Also, the teachers are great and always willing to help you. I enjoy being able to leave the boardo to go for a run around the lake and of course work my horse. So far boarding has been an amazing opportunity and I have made memories that I will always cherish." - Rosie
