It should be noted that the Senior District Basketball Teams have a few minor changes regarding the coaches and scorers of mainly the Rookie teams and a few Future Star teams. In addition there has been a team name swap with the Rookie 2 and Rookie 3 teams. BASKETBALL TEAM TRAINING
Basketball training for our All Star Girls and Boys team and two of our Future Star teams will be conducted this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Please see the scheduled training times offered below. We hope all students can make these training sessions to prepare them for the competition this Friday.
WHAT TO PACK:
In a backpack or sport bag of their choice, students need to pack:
- Lunch and Snack
- At least 2 - 3 filled up drink bottles
- Warm Jacket to wear in between games
- A basketball (optional)
- Basketball shoes (if your child owns and wishes to wear their basketball shoes for their games, they may pack these or wear them on the day. If they do not own a pair, good runners that grip on hardwood surfaces/courts should be worn)
- Mouthguard (optional)
- Basketball accessories e.g headbands, knee guards etc (optional if they do wear these for their own domestic competition)
UNIFORMS: Students will wear their full sport uniform on the day. A St Simon's basketball jersey and shorts will be provided by Mr Karl Camerino for the day.
This uniform will be given to the students the morning of the competition at the expected times to be at school below. Future Star and Rookie teams can arrive earlier to collect their uniform so there isn't a rush of many students collecting uniforms at the same time. Students will change into their uniform before departing and at the venue if we require them to get on the bus quickly.
On the day of the event, the jersey is to be worn underneath their sports uniform. Students will change into their basketball shorts in the morning before departing St Simons. At the end of your child's last game, they will be asked to change at the venue and hand their basketball jersey and shorts to their coach or teacher who will hand this to Mr Karl Camerino.
