Shadow Judging

UHS is participating in the CBCA Shadow Judging again this year, which involves students reading and selecting their favourite book from the Older Readers category. 

Students meet weekly to discuss the nominated books before working together to select and vote for just one.  As part of the program, students also had the opportunity to meet nominated author, Biffy James and learn about her writing inspiration and journey. They also participated in a workshop with Jessica Walton, learning about constructing and evaluating a graphic novel.

It has been great to see so many students getting involved this year and encourage anyone who enjoys reading or would like to take on the role of judge and critic, to get involved in 2024.
