Mathematics Report
With our first Semester completed for this year, there are a number of activities and achievements to report on for 2023.
Firstly, congratulations to our wonderful Year 12 student Christopher Tran. Christopher has returned from Japan after representing Australia for the second time in the International Mathematical Olympiad. Overall, Australia was ranked 23 out of the 116 countries which were represented. Individually, Christopher received a Silver Medal for his ranking of 119 in the world. Our best of course to Christopher and his family for this exceptional achievement.
Our first school-wide competition this year was the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking Competition. 125 students participated and in particular I would like to congratulate the following students for achieving a High Distinction on the day.

Lina MORE – Year 10
Qingyu SMITH – Year 10
Riley DEXTER – Year 11
Riley was also awarded Best in School! Well Done Riley!!
As well as these results, 23 students achieved a Distinction, and 46 students achieved a Credit. Our congratulations to all students – certificates and results will be distributed in class over the coming weeks.
The Mathematics Challenge results have also arrived. 111 students participated in this 3-week problem solving activity, with these 9 students receiving a High Distinction.
