Parents & Friends

Have you filled in the Just One Thing survey? It’s your last chance! Our survey closes Monday, so please even just take a look to see if there is something you would like to contribute to or be a part of.

Follow this link to the  ‘Just one thing’ survey or copy/paste this into your browser https://forms.gle/9nAhJbYmj18J4zue9

All activities at Violet St require a current Working With Children Check. You can get a free Working With Childrens Check here: www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au .

A Parents & Friends group member will contact you about how you can help throughout 2023.

For the parents....

What are our P&F group members reading/listening/watching right now? This week Julie Martin (Eli's mum, F/1 Q) recommends the following;

Watching:

 Jury Duty ( Amazon Prime ) It follows the workings of an American jury trial through the eyes of Ronald Gladden, a juror who is unaware the entire case is fake. Everyone except him is an actor, and everything that happens is carefully planned. So funny and has James Marsden in it as himself.

Interview with a Vampire ( ABC Iview ) Follow the adventures of Louis and Lestat in turn of the Century New Orleans. Definitely gory but gothic and beautiful at the same time.

Reading:

Horse By Geraldine Brooks. The latest and greatest from one of my fave authors ( writer of the absolute classic Year of Wonder ). Brooks writes about the famed Kentucky racehorse Lexington, King of Antebellum racetrack, against the inevitable backdrop of racism in the South; antebellum horse racing being an industry built in the plundered labour of black horsemen. Read if historical fiction is your jam.

Listening to:

Padam Padam by Kylie Minogue- ridiculously infectious!! Total banger. Play it loud and on repeat.

Shameless Scandal Podcast - not ashamed to say this is ridiculously low brow and fun celebrity trash, and I love it. It unpacks some of the biggest celebrity scandals, and does historical deep dives into colourful characters such as Drew Barrymore and Lindsay Lohan; and the cheating scandals of David Letterman and Ralph Fiennes.

Happy holidays everyone!
