Hello from  Grade 4/5 W

It has been a VERY busy but fantastic Term Two. Cannot believe we are now half way through the year!!

In writing we have been working on narratives. We have written one over two weeks, focusing on different parts such as paragraphing, descriptive language and adding verbs to describe how a character is feeling in our mini lessons.

Here are some examples of our paragraphs describing how a character was feeling using verbs. 

Over Term Two we have learnt about perimeter and area. Miss Wadley set a task to find out whose name in the class had the most area and perimeter. It was very challenging to fit letters which are usually curved onto grid paper. 

Our predictions of whose name would have the most area and perimeter were not quite correct as one student added, 'the great', after their name to extend it as an extra challenge.

One more fun activity... We used skittles to order a five-digit number. According to how many colours, depended on our number as:

Red = tens of thousands

Green = thousands

Yellow = hundreds

Purple = tens

Orange = ones
