Hello, from Carolyn.

Hello everyone,

Term 3 goal setting meetings.

We will be holding our Term 3 goal setting meetings in the week beginning 24th July. Our aim in holding these meetings is to provide time every term for you and your child/ren to meet with their teachers/s to discuss learning progress and to set learning goals for the term. We want our students to be actively involved in their learning journey and to have a voice in their next steps in learning.

Each teacher will be released from their classroom for a day to enable them to meet with students and parents/carers during the day, and to reduce teachers having to stay back at school every night over the week, often making for very long days.

Keep an eye out for when bookings open and make a booking to meet with your child/s teacher/s.

Here are the dates when teachers will be available during the day-

Monday 24th July- Danielle Wadley, Jacinta Condon and Nicole Lowe.

Tuesday 25th July- Sonia Dubb, David Morrison-Blunck, Rachel Quarrier and Jason Bentley.

Wednesday 26th July- Amy Cecil and Laura Trembath and Di Kennedy.

Inquiry into the State Education System in Victoria.

There is currently the opportunity to contribute to the parliamentary inquiry into state education. The investigation is being led by the Legislative Council's Legal and Social Issues Committee.

The Committee will investigate the Victorian education system across government schools. The inquiry will look at trends in student learning outcomes, disparities associated with geography and socio-economic disadvantage; the state of the teaching profession, including the administrative burden on teachers; and student well being, including measures to address poor mental health, school refusal and student disengagement. The Committee will consider best practice models and educational settings used to improve student learning outcomes and wellbeing.

I encourage you all to click the link and add your contribution to the inquiry-

Staffing update.

Next term, we will welcome two additional Integration aids to our team, Caitlin Wilson and Prue Clarke. They will be great additions to our already awesome ES team.

I will be on long service leave for the first week of term 3, Kim Kirkpatrick will be acting principal in my absence.

Video games created by 4/5/6 students.

Make sure you visit the Music room page in this week's newsletter so you can enjoy the video games created by our 4-6 students. Thanks Bridget for sharing those fantastic creations!

Here we are at the end of the term already!  There have been plenty of winter bugs around this term, so I have my fingers crossed that means those bugs will not be around next term! Thank you all for another great term and I hope that the next two weeks go well for you all- with no illnesses!

warm regards,

Carolyn.
