The homework / tutorial club for Mathematics is available every Monday afternoon in C4 from 3pm to 5.30pm. Rohan Shankar and Zara Zafar are pictured here attending the sessions. All are welcome.
Year 11 Projects were completed at the end of last term. Students were required to design, build and test an interactive game for enjoyment and this was judged for the degree of complexity. Students were also required to submit a report on how they developed the game. All students completed excellent games but two students were exceptional. Congratulations to Michael Hingston and Kaileb McDonald for a wonderful submission. I am sure they will let you have a game with them.
All the students in the SDD classes in Year 11 and Year 12 competed in the Bebras Computional Thinking Challenge. It was a competition involving over 60 other countries and 2.9 million students. It was an exciting experience.
Several students produced outstanding results. In Year 11 Michael Hingston and Danielle Wrigley and in Year 12 Tharuki Gamagedara and Clyde Tordecillas. Well done!!
Year 11 IPT students completed a Case Study of an Information System. Atharv Javagal and Walid Jeda both scored 100%. Other exceptional students who scored commendable results were - Tejass Rajaram, Danielle Wrigley, Komal Sultan and Kernali Budhathoki.
Year 12 IPT students completed their Database Project last term. Megan Kotze and Nada Shadid submitted an outstanding project.
For the Year 11 Assessment Task 2, Chelsea Nowak ranked number one, with Abdullah Abbas also achieving an outstanding result. Well done to both students!
Year 12 student results in Assessment Task 3, for Mathematics Standard, improved remarkably from those of Assessment Task 2. Well done to everyone, but in particular to Abby Kitto, who achieved an outstanding result. May Stonham also achieved commendable results.
Year 11 Advanced students completed their Assessment Task 2 and Danielle Wrigley and Andy Zhang shared top marks.
In the Year 12 Assessment Task 3 Eungyeol Ko excelled, achieving top marks. Scarlet Masters produced outstanding results.
In the Year 11 Assessment Task 2 for Mathematics Extension 1 top position was achieved by Michael Hingston. Well done Michael!
The first place for Year 12 Assessment Task 3 for Extension 1 and 2 was achieved by Vansh Kalra. A combination of effort and natural ability has served Vansh well - great result!
Requests for a student to withdraw from the optional HSC Examination for either English Studies and Mathematics Standard 1 courses, must be submitted by Week 6 of Term 3, that is 21 August. Please return the signed withdrawal form to either Lili or Denis.
