SRC Camp
In Term 2, the Wyndham College SRC Team held a two-day conference and camp at Wollongong
Surf Leisure Resort. The purpose being to come together and bond, while planning for future events and activities for coming the academic year. The camp was an excellent opportunity for our school’s SRC to create strong friendships with their fellow mates, learn more about each other, all while developing their leadership skills, and learning to work together as a team.
To add fun to the camp, completed various team building activities including scavenger hunt, a beach outing, and many games to encourage teamwork. They also had the chance to hear about the importance of mental health and wellbeing from Sara Imanian, learn about the SRC Constitution and gain knowledge on event management from Jessica Honda and Denis Vlismas.
The students were able to engage in meaningful conversations about their school and the various initiatives they could undertake to improve the College's environment. At the end of the camp, the SRC held a discussion to brainstorm ideas for future projects and events, like Wynfest, Wear it Purple Day, Naidoc Week, and many more.
The camp was an overall success as it gave the SRC an opportunity to come together and collaborate, while also having a great time.

The Ponds Interschool SRC Event
SRC Members Atharv and Joanne represented Wyndham College at The Ponds High School Interschool SRC event in Term 2. Many schools in Western Sydney also attended.
During this event, SRC members from the different schools collaborated their thoughts and opinions on the various problems faced by students on a daily basis and the main causes of these problems.
There was one problem among most of these schools, which was the lack of social support and motivation in students. The solutions and strategies to tackle these problems were discussed. Guests, Stephen Bali (Member of the NSW Parliament) and Warren Kirby (Member of the NSW Parliament), gave their insightful thoughts and opinions on this matter.
Overall, the event was productive and a great experience.

SRC Cake Stall Fundraising Event
On the 8th of June 2023, I was lucky enough to speak to Sarah King, host of Wyndham SRC’s Cake Stall and mother of Christine Douglas.
Sarah works at a bakery in Doonside. Along with her mother in-law, a few friendly bakers from work and Christine, they created the beautiful cakes sold at the SRC Cake Stall.
Not only did Sarah kindly donate the materials and ingredients for the cakes, but she also told me that other cake companies ended up assisting with equipment to help make the cakes for our school.
As I ask, “but why did you choose to help Wyndham College?”, she responds that the over 8 hours of eye-widening work and pressure was all worth it because she did it for lovely daughter, Christine.
If you loved the cakes available at the SRC Cake Stall, don’t worry. Some of these cakes aren’t gone forever! You can find them at Sarah’s workplace, ‘Romeos Supavalu’ in Doonside, where a range of cakes and pastries like donuts, butterfly cupcakes, muffins, croissants, apple turnovers, custard tarts and more are available. Please show your support and return the kindness by purchasing bakery goods from Romeos!
On behalf of Wyndham Collage, we would like to, once again, thank Christine, Sarah and their team for their hardwork and generosity. Thanks to their amazing efforts, the SRC raised over $600 that will be used for future SRC organised events.
