WELLBEING @ WYNDHAM

Study Without Stress Workshops at Wyndham

This is a learning opportunity for Year 12 students who feel the need for keeping their stress to a manageable level to prepare for, and perform better, during their HSC exams. It can also support Year 11 students with their End of Course exams later this term.

Study Without Stress (SWoS) was designed by Macquarie University’s Centre for Emotional Health, and will be facilitated by the Student Support Officer (SSO). This program equips students with knowledge and practical tips on how to approach and overcome the stress associated with heavy workloads and exams in the final years of high school.

The program covers topics including:

· Creating effective timetables

· Building good study habits and exam preparation

· Challenging negative or unhelpful thinking patterns

· Understanding and dealing with perfectionism and procrastination

Self-care in Mind

Self-care refers to activities that preserve and maintain one’s physical, emotional and mental health. It is an ongoing commitment to look after yourself through helpful behaviours that protect your health during periods of stress.

Self-care is different for everyone and isn’t just for reacting to stress. It is about participating in activities to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing. There is no specific time frame or frequency for it to occur, but it is important to try and practice self-care everyday
