Junior Choir & Senior Choir-Creative Generation Voices

Last Thursday, 82 Junior and Senior Choir students travelled to Robina State School to compete in Creative Generation Voices, a new biennial state-wide choral competition. C Gen Voices aims to showcase the exciting music making that is occurring in the Primary and Secondary school choral programs throughout the state. Heats were held across Queensland last week and will continue into this week with hundreds of choirs participating, and the top choirs from each region will be chosen to move onto regional finals.

Both Palm Beach choirs performed exceptionally in their heat and each received a Silver Award. This is an outstanding achievement considering the short amount of time these groups have been rehearsing together. With this being their first competition, students had the opportunity to hear other local choirs perform, receive constructive feedback from a high level adjudicator, and perform in front of a large audience.

Cross Country Championship

Last Wednesday, our years 3 - 6 students competed in the Cross Country.  It was impressive to see students giving the distance a go and some age competitions were fiercely contested with sprints to the line.  Congratulations to all our age champions and overall winners, the Stingrays!
