Colour Run Fun Run

Last week was very colourful indeed!  Our P & C organised a great day and the efforts of all the staff on running the stations and supervising classes made the event a spectacular success.  You could tell by the laughter and the enjoyment that the students really enjoyed being part of this occasion.

Cross Country Championship

Congratulations to all students who participated in our Cross Country on Wednesday last week.  It was great to see so many choosing to participate in this event and test their limits.  More information can be found in Sport and Music news.

NAPLAN & celebration BBQ

As I walked through the classrooms during the NAPLAN testing, it was amazing to feel the positive spirit and hear comments from students eager to do their best.  Students showed growth mindsets and were keen to show the skills that they have obtained throughout their schooling.

On the last day of NAPLAN testing, the students celebrated with a BBQ.  The hot plate was manned by Chappy Evan who was assisted by Mr Bowden and Mr Hill. Our PBSS Year 3 & 5 students enjoyed some downtime in the Community Garden celebrating the conclusion of the testing.

Junior & Senior Choir

I would like to extend a special congratulations to Miss Ward and her Junior & Senior choirs who competed at the Creative Generation Voices last week.  They have been working hard this year, leading the school singing the Australian Anthem on Junior and Senior assembly and spending lunch times rehearsing.  A Silver placing was reward for their hard work and commitment.  If you would like to read more about this, see Sport and Music news.

Lovely Ladies Concert

 15 May, 2017

Well, did you feel the LOVE at school last week?

Palm Beach Preppies showered the special ladies in their lives with Rainbows, Peace, Coloured Kisses, and L.O.V.E at a wonderful and colourful concert.

Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, mums and ladies everywhere were honoured by beautiful voices and heartfelt words.  Our guests were given a special handmade flower each. Songs that had been practised for weeks were performed along with a song written especially for us by our beautiful friend (and Palm Beach State School’s ex-music teacher) Ms Rhondda Howland, “Song for Mothers” ~ a special treat. The highlight was the “Class of 2017” joining together for the Finale` with a special song taught to them by our present School Music Teacher Ms Shari Ward – just “Adorable”!

Yes, LOVE was definitely in the air, and smiles, hugs and even a tear or two were the order of the day.
