Year 2 Sleepover

Students from Year 2 will have an exciting end to the term having a sleepover at school next week on Thursday 19th September.

4C Fundraiser

Who would believe that we have already raised $200 selling raffle tickets for the Coles Mini Raffle?!?! Raffle tickets will continue to be sold up until the end of term for $5. The raffle will take place as the Half Time Entertainment for the Galilee Jump Off, approximately 12:10pm on the last day of term.

Starting next week after school, 4C will be selling individual Coles Minis and Woolworths Ooshies to assist in completing collections.

One gold coin ($1 or $2 coin) allows for one Coles Mini or Woolworths Ooshie. Individuals will be sold on a 'first come, first serve' basis with no holds or reservations.

We ask for your patience as 4C will have a raffle table, Minis table and Ooshies table outside the Library entrance next week.

CEMSIS

CEMSIS surveys close next Friday 20 September.  Currently only 14% of our families have completed their survey.  If you have lost your login details, please see Wendy at the Office.

Bunning BBQ - This Saturday!

Come down and support our school!

Thank you to all the parent helpers who have organised in the lead up or volunteered to help for this event.

Jump Rope for Heart

As a school, we have raised  $18,574.88

On Friday the 20th of September, Galilee will be celebrating Jump Rope for Heart, this will also signal the closing of fundraising.

We will be having a Jump Off with music, prizes and fruit sticks ($1.00). All proceeds will go towards The Heart Foundation.

The Jump Off will run from 11.40am - 12.40pm. Parents/carers are welcome to come along and watch.

All classes will participate in a skipping activity with their buddy classes prior to the 20th and teachers will select three students from each class (preps will select five) to participate the finalists Jump Off. We will have four year level Jump Offs; Prep, Year One and Two, Year Three and Four and Year Five and Six.

We would love several parents to help volunteer making the fruit sticks. If you are available to help between 9am - 11.00am on the 20th and have you a Working With Children Check, please email Holly Burke to let her know your availability. You will find her contact details below.

GOSH News

GOSH doesn't get tired from a super active life even if it's the end of the term!

Last week was dedicated to cooking ( which was incredibly successful) and this week to music! We'll make plenty of noise with musical instruments, so excuse us parents, in advance.

With great pleasure I want to mention some children who positively impressed us during the last 2 weeks: Roger from Prep  became part of GOSH and showed us good manners, great understanding and nice social & communication skills, Mia from Grade 1 established herself as a thoughtful and helpful friend who is able to take care of others and has great empathy, Cody from Grade 6 keeps on showing us his caring & understanding nature- he is the best big brother for younger kids as well as Adele from Grade 5- the best elder sister for preps! Also we want to mention Matthew and Abigail, who became great members of GOSH and on regular basis and show us their beautiful manners, wonderful communication skills and great attitude.

Of course, we could list all 150+ children who attend service, but for now we are saving your time.

Just want to remind you, that GOSH operates from 6.30- 8.30 am & 3.20- 6.00 pm during the term and from 7 am- 6 pm during the school holidays.

Next Friday is the early finish, service will be open from 1.30- 6 pm but please book in advance.

Don't forget to make bookings for the School Holidays at www.theircare.com.au

School Fees

All unpaid fees are now overdue (excludes those on payment agreements). Please call the office to discuss your account asap.

Conversation Caravan is coming to Galilee!

When: Wednesday 18th September 2019 – 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Students, parents and guardians we want to meet you! Come and tell us all about how you get to school, what would make it easier for you to walk, ride or scoot to school, and how you would like to travel to school!

What is this all about?

The City of Port Phillip is working with your child’s school to develop an action plan to make it safer and easier to walk, scoot and ride a bike to school. The Healthy Tracks to School project is integral in encouraging young people and their families to:

-        Participate on active travel methods such as walking, riding and scooting;

-        Engage in community through shared travel experience;

-        Develop independence and responsibility through independent travel; and

-        Enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.

Bring your parents and make a fresh fruit smoothie using our pedal bike!

We will also be supplying a coffee van for those who chat to us!

For more information speak to Miss Carmen Carnovale.
