Principal's Report

Remembrance Day Ceremony

The newly appointed 2020 Captains and I will be honoured to attend the Remembrance Day service at the Tamworth Town Hall this Monday from 10:00am. On the back of our recent prayers for those who have passed away on All Souls Day, please take a moment to remember the ultimate sacrifice that was made by these brave souls to enable the societal freedoms we enjoy today.

Year 12 Graduation Dinner

At the time of writing, the Year 12 students are in the penultimate stages of their HSC Exams which conclude next Monday. We have been praying fervently that they have been able to achieve their potential and reap the rewards when the HSC results and ATAR scores come out in December. Consequently, to celebrate that effort and gather together as a faith community one last time, the Graduation Dinner will be held at the Town Hall on Thursday 14 November. I offer extra special thanks to Mrs Jane Burt and the hard working team of staff who have been preparing busily behind the scenes for what promises to be a special night of comradery, dancing and appreciation to parents and teachers for their support of the Year 12 students over the past 6 years. Please keep Year 12 in your prayers.

Trivia Night

Please give some consideration to the Parent Association Trivia Night being held on Saturday 23 November. Over the past 5 years the Trivia Night has stood out as a great opportunity for parents to gather in the spirit of fun and friendly banter to enjoy a night of brain-straining trivia. The members of the Parent Association have some fun games planned as well so we hope to see you all there next Saturday in the Foyer of the Our Lady of the Rosary Centre 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. Over 18's only. $10.00/head (payable on the night) with tables of 8 - 10 people. RSVP to mccadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au or phone the College on 02 67610800 with your name and the number of people attending.

School Advisory Council Nominations

I encourage any interested parents who wish to be involved in supporting the governance of the College as an advisory member, to attend the School Advisory Council (SAC) Information Evening on Tuesday 12 November 2019 in the Meeting Room at 5:30pm. There is currently one parent/community member vacancy. It is a requirement of all members to participate in an information session prior to nominating and potentially being elected to the SAC at the Annual General Meeting. I strongly encourage any interested parents to attend the Information Session.

Please email me to register your attendance - gmcmanus@arm.catholic.edu.au

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 19 November 2019 at 5:30pm.

Staffing

Due to a recent resignation, a full-time permanent Agriculture teacher position will be advertised this week for 2020. Please encourage any suitably qualified and experienced TAS teachers to contact the College or go to our website for application details.

Welcome

We welcome the following students to the McCarthy community: Saryroat Sout (Year 10), and Sereyvout Sout (Year 11).  We hope that their transition has been a smooth one and that they are enjoying the McCarthy community.
