Year 8 Cultural Day

The Gomeroi Culture Academy is a wonderful culture based leadership program which offers students in the Tamworth area the chance to learn more about Gamilaroi culture whilst building and strengthening their own personal identity. Year 8 were incredibly lucky to have a cultural day with Marc Sutherland on Friday 25 October. They learned an Acknowledgment to Country as well as song & dance. The students also had discussions on what their personal values are as individuals. Each group left every session feeling enriched and passionate to learn more about their culture. We’d like to say a massive thank you to Marc for offering his time and knowledge and to our Year 8 students for their participation. We are incredibly lucky to have such culturally minded students.
