Year 11

Mrs O’Neill is currently on leave. Ms Melissa Davis is Acting Leader of Student Care in her absence.

The transition from Year 11 to Year 12 can be a exciting and at the same time, challenging for some. To assist our Year 11 students in this transition period there are some key processes and protocols for students to follow.

Subject changes are still being processed with clear guidelines to be followed. Green Change of Subject forms must be completed and signed by Parents/Guardians before subjects can be dropped or changed. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Teaching and Learning Coordinator, Mrs Raelene Maxworthy. Students are required to remain in their timetabled classes until they receive their revised 2019 timetable.  Of course, students can continue their current pattern of study with 12 or 13 Units. Dropping a subject can occur anytime up until the HSC.

Normal signout procedure is to be followed when leaving the College grounds. This is particularly relevant to students who drive to school each day. A letter will be sent home requiring express permission from parents/ guardians before any student has approval to leave during the course of the school day. It is also imperative that under no circumstances are they to take other students in their vehicle without express permission of all parties involved.

As Year 11 begin their HSC courses it is vital that students attend all classes. Please contact the College in the usual manner if they are unwell or absent. If assistance is required with this, contact can be made directly to the classroom teacher via email or by contacting myself or Mrs O’Neill on her return.

The 2020 Assessment Booklet is now available on the College website and a copy will be emailed directly to parents/guardians and students. Hard copies are also available through the College Office. NESA requirements concerning attendance, misadventure and illness are outlined in this booklet.

The Term 4 Calendar is in the process of being completed and will be emailed to parents/ guardians and students once finalised.

McCarthy has subscribed to an Online and Interactive Study Skills handbook. This contains useful topic areas for students to access at any time. Some of the topics included are; managing workload, developing motivation, active studying, summarising and lifestyle and balance.
