Pastoral Care News

Today some of our Year 10 C.A.T leaders hosted an event "High-tea for hope, health and happiness" promoting the work of Caritas and their prenatal and maternal programs in third world countries. The girls had invited women they regard in high esteem and shared knowledge what they had learned when they participated in the Caritas Just Leaders workshop late last term. The event was a great success and allowed the girls to network with a range of people from not only MCC but also the wider community and diverse backgrounds. There was the opportunity for others to share their stories and first hand experiences of overcoming the lack of support or medical access in remote communities and the importance of providing education and training to reduce the mortality rate and health of all mothers and babies. Mrs Savage’s year 9 Child Studies class were also in attendance and the challenge has been set to their class and the C.A.T Leaders of 2020 to look at possible opportunities to support this great cause.
The girls would like to thank Miss McMahon and her year 11 hospitality class for assisting in the preparation of food to compliment what the girls had donated. In addition, special mention must go to Mrs Vania Rizzeri who makes teddy bears which were presented to the guests to serve as a symbolic memento of the occasion.
Next Wednesday hampers will be collected from homerooms and decorated in preparation for Friday’s Mass. Thank you to everyone who has donated an item; your generosity is always appreciated but particularly at Christmas.
Thank you for all of the donations of uniforms that have been given. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you require assistance in accessing some items; particularly for students transitioning from junior to senior.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to spend time with your nearest and dearest.
