7-10 Girls League Tag Gala Day
On Wednesday 27th November, 26 Marian girls attended the 7-10 League Tag Gala Day as part of the NRL Move it program.
The girls competed in round games against Leeton High School and Coleamblly High School.
The year 9 girls finished 1st in their pool and courageously went on to finish 1st for the day.
The year 8 girls finished 2nd in their pool and with determination finished 3rd for the day. This is a great achievement for these girls.
Marian girls showed outstanding sportsmanship, skill and motivation throughout the day. Players of the day for Marian were Louisa Tiuaki and Sophia Kelsey.

NCSS Challenge 2019
During term 3, Year 9 IST students participated in the National Computer Science School Programming Challenge, which is run by the Australian Computing Academy at the University of Sydney. Over the course of 5 weeks, students were given a few small programming challenges to work through, and had to submit their solutions to be marked and graded.
Most of these students have never done programing before. This year there were over 16, 000 students across the state who participated in the Beginners Challenge, over 7,000 students who participated in the Intermediate Challenge, and over 3,500 students who participated in the Advanced Challenge.
All students who participate in the challenge received a certificate for participation, through to a High Distinction and Perfect Score.

Indigenous Engineering
Year 8 this week were involved in Indigenous engineering where they learned how Aborigines used the land sustainably using local natural resources. Our school aboriginal liaison officer Lorelei, demonstrated to students how to make raffia friendship bracelets for Christmas.

Reminder: Lockers to be cleaned out and locks removed before the end of the year as next year, new locker numbers will be issued. A $20.00 fee payable per year for the hire of the locker.
Please be aware if any items are left in the lockers they will be removed and discarded.
