Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Project Sam
We are grateful that our students and staff have returned safely from Samoa. Most readers would be aware that there is a measles outbreak in Samoa and all schools were closed only a couple of days before our arrival! Thankfully, everyone was vaccinated and all are well. The trip is demanding enough due to the humid weather without another challenge. They responded magnificently restocked and organised a school library, did quite a lot of painting, decorating very old and tired looking classrooms, ready for the students to return next year. We all know that seeing rooms well organised and freshly painted gives you a lift. It no doubt will bring smiles to their faces. The students have put together a blog with photos on our website that everyone can read.
Caritas High tea
Congratulations to our Community Action Team, for hosting the Caritas High Tea for women and girls at Marian today. Students made a presentation to our guests on the work of Caritas and their support of women from third world countries where there is a resource and education deficiency, particularly in the areas of pre and post natal for women and their children. I invite you to read the report form Mrs Hone in this newsletter.
Creative Arts Showcase
Last Tuesday evening the talents of our students in Art and Music were on display. I shouldn’t be surprised but once again the quality of the new students and the maturity of the performance of some of the more experienced was amazing. I must also add that the art works from all ages, especially the junior students, were the best I have ever seen! These levels of excellence are a credit to the students and their teachers.
Oh Day!
It was a pleasure to welcome our Year 7 2020 students, they all had bright smiles and participated enthusiastically in all the activities throughout the day. We look forward to seeing them all next year.
Peace and Best Wishes
