Sporting Successes

Congratulations and good luck, George Dale (11 Loyola) and Sarah James (11 St Louis)

The Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships are an annual event, which is a recognised FIE (International Fencing Federation) Zone championship. This means that it attracts World ranking points, which will be important to George and Sarah as they head off to the World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria at the end of March. They have both been selected to represent Australia at the world championships for the Under 17 Team. Good luck George and Sarah.

 

Congratulations to Eve Cohen (Yr 11, Loreto) who has been included as a Development Player in the Western Australian Junior State Golf Team.  

Eve will be playing in the WA State Amateur tournament next week, and travelling to NSW in April to compete in the Australian Amateur.

Congratulations also to Lachlan O'Callaghan who was chosen in the combined ACC Representative Cricket team to play a combined Government Schools Team at the WACA Ground on Wednesday 8 March.

 

Congratulations to James Hackett has been selected to represent Western Australia in the National U15 Hockey Championships to be held in Sydney during April 2017.  Good luck James!

NAS

(Northern Associated School) Sport

Our next NAS fixture is against Newman College, Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 March. A reminder that if students cannot meet their commitment, they need to give the teacher in charge adequate notice. Results, fixtures and ladders for the NAS competition can be viewed via the iScore website - http://www.metisc.com.au/iscoresn/index.cfm?db=5&foid=5 use the menu on the left. Swimming Training

(Year 7-12)

The 2017 ACC Swimming team has been selected. Students selected have been notified with a letter in home room and via email with details of their events. Students are asked to check this carefully, please see Mr Maxwell if there are any concerns. Changes will be possible until Wednesday 15 March. Students are encouraged to attend training where possible. A reminder that to be eligible for an ACC swimming badge students must attend at least 4 school training sessions along with the ACC carnival. Training will remain open to students of all ability levels, and continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7.00 - 7.50am at the College pool until Monday 20 March. 

Cross Country Training (Year 7-12)

Training will continue on Tuesday and Thursday throughout Term One and into Term Two, from 7:00 - 7:50am meeting in the College pavilion. Training is open to students of all ability levels. Training will continue on Tuesday and Thursday throughout Term One and into Term Two. No nomination to attend training is needed, simply attend on the day(s) you can make it. Distances run vary from 4 - 7km depending on ability level.
