John XXIII College 2017 Borneo-Anzac Scholarship

Congratulations to Grace Olver winner of the John XXIII College 2017 Borneo-Anzac Scholarship.

Grace will travel with the Borneo Exhibition Group and other high school students from Perth to Borneo on the 13 April. She will be participating in a variety of cultural activities, memorial services in Sabah, Sarawak and Sandakan; culminating in the Anzac Dawn Ceremony on the 25 April in Labuan. We look forward to hearing about Grace’s experiences when she returns to Perth.

Year 7,8 and 9 Leadership

To help develop leadership skills all elected student leaders from Years 7-9, attended the GRIP Student Leadership Conference for secondary students at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in Perth on Thursday 9 March 2017.

Some of the leadership activities that students participated in were:

  • Developing a leadership plan
  • Leading a school assembly
  • Expectations of responsibility
  • Generating new ideas
  • Turning ideas into action, and
  • Seeking the support of peers

We will now conduct after school formation sessions with the students to develop the ideas from the conference.
