What's happening!

Message from Mr Russo

Dear Parents

I hope this email finds you all safe and well. Over the past days, media commentary around easing COVID-19 restrictions has begun to fill many media forms. Tomorrow we are expecting announcements from the Prime Minister and on Monday further announcements from our Premier. Whatever the outcome of these directions, I will be sure to write to you all and communicate any changes that may or may not result from these announcements. Remote learning has its challenges – I know only too well with my sons currently studying in Year 10 and Year 12. What the future holds beyond this weekend’s announcements is unclear at the moment– we will however act as directed and continue to provide the very best support to you and our students via our remote learning structures.

I am very proud of the work and the hours I see our staff putting into the remote learning program, planning for our students and being present to needs as they arise throughout each day.  Likewise to the staff who are also supporting our onsite remote learners who are undertaking extra duties to do so at this time. Equally I have great admiration for you all as parents juggling work, life and remote learning too. Congratulations to our students as we are seeing lots of wonderful and at times creative responses to our learning tasks.

As I have said in earlier newsletters and communications to you all – long after COVID-19 restrictions are confined to history, it will be the time spent together that our students (and as a family) will remember most. This weekend it is a perfect opportunity to celebrate our mums. While usual plans for visiting extended family, gift giving, going out, gathering, etc may look different – it does not stop us from stopping to say “Thanks” to our mums for all that they do for us. For those whose mums are no longer with us, a time to think, pray and reflect on the influence they have had on our lives.

Self Care

A reminder also about working online, health and safety for all is a priority. Ensure regular breaks are part of your online routine, mixed with physical or non-screen activity. Correct posture is also very important when sitting at a screen to work. Remember the time allocations for work across our year levels as has been previously communicated. This will assist with a daily balance for you al as tasks can be spread throughout the day.

Mass with Fr Andrew

As you are aware Fr Andrew is recording mass and uploading this to YouTube for all to celebrate at home each week. From this week on wards, student artwork from St Brigid’s and St Louis’ is being featured throughout the mass. Please visit the parish website to access the link (Sat afternoons) to mass each week: Click here for link.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our Mums this Sunday - We hope our students make you feel very special.

Kind Regards
