Introduction Level 1

Welcome

Welcome to the new families who have joined our Glen Waverley Primary School community this year. We would like to extend a huge and very warm welcome to you and your family, wishing you a successful start for the 2020.

To our existing and returning families, we welcome you back! We look

forward to continuing to build positive and supportive relationships with you and your children.

We are excited to introduce the three Foci that will guide our teaching and learning this year:

Emotional Intelligence

Resilience in Learning

Clarity in communication

Teachers and learners will be striving to address embody these foci both in and out of the classroom this term and throughout 2020.

Our school community takes the utmost pride in being supportive and promoting a strong sense of wellbeing and belonging. We continuously embrace and celebrate our diverse cultures and

background, which are deeply woven into the foundations of our school.

The students have started with a positive mindset and eagerness to tackle the new learning that awaits! Our Level One team looks forward to facilitating and guiding your children, as they embrace and accomplish new learning challenges. Our aim is maximising learning and providing students the opportunity to make valuable learning discoveries over the year. Independent and collaborative learning experiences will be implemented, as well as establishing and reflecting on personalised learning goals in conjunction with the learning program.

The teachers in the Level One team this year are: Ms. Manuela Pertile – 1A (Teaching and Learning Leader), Ms Anna Meng – 1B (Assistant Teaching and learning Leader), Mr. Robert Lou – 1C, Mr. Gordon Gerada – 1D, Ms. Monique Kelly – 1E, Mrs. Lyn Clugg (Reading
