Good Shepherd Sunday

The World Day of Prayer for Vocations was on Sunday the 3rd of May.

This is also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday." 

This call to vocations to the religious life fulfils the Lord's instruction to send labourers to his harvest (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). Please pray that young men and women from our diocese hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, the diaconate, religious life, and secular institutes.

Prayer for Priestly Vocations

Father, in your plan for our salvation you provide shepherds for your people.

Fill your Church with the spirit of courage and love.

Raise up worthy ministers for your altars and ardent

but gentle servants of the gospel.

We ask this in the name of Jesus,

the Eternal High Priest.

Amen.
