Pre-Kinder

What Happened in March
This month in march we the Pre-kinder room went through some transition periods with our beloved Sandrine going into the kinder room. However, this left us with an exciting new time where we got a new staff member Sarah. Sarah is working alongside Naomi and together they are sharing the role of room leader. Both Naomi and Sarah are working to build strong bonds with the children in the room so they can feel safe secure and supported within the room.
Composting
The Pre-Kinder room had a visit from Jess this month where the children learn about composting. The children with the help of Jess worked together to create our very own composting bin in our outdoor environment. At every meal time throughout the day we have been having discussions with the children about why we are composting our food and how it is helping to feed the worms.
The children are beginning to develop their own understanding of what it means to have respect for their environment, they are making conscious decisions to take less food on their plates and only grab more when they have finished.
Under the Sea
Upon reading a a book about Australian sea creatures the children have been working together to explore the different animals that they may find in the sea, they have been using play based learning to encourage inquiry and exploration of the different textures of animals. We will contnue to explore this in the comming months.
Reminders!!
Family's please remember to bring your Family photo to go onto our family tree on the wall, this will give the children a sense of belonging within the room and we will be discussing the photos at or morning group time.
