Junior Toddler

What happened in March?
In the month of March most of our activities planned for the room was to improve the 'communication skills' of our children. In all the activities including home corner, cars and trucks, bush kitchen, sand pit area, painting, play dough, interactive group time including puppets, the educators use rich and interesting language with children . They show the children what the words mean and encourage children to show their feelings using their words. When we are communicating with the children we are highlighting numbers and colors and encourage them to count and identify them.
Children show a great interest in Nursery Rhymes when are singing them with puppets. "Five little ducks" and "Five cheeky monkeys" songs has being the most popular ones.
Teddy Bears Picnic
In mid March, children brought their teddy bears to the center to go on a picnic with them and we all enjoyed our picnic lunch having our sandwiches. We all packed our sandwiches in to a basket and took some teddy bear biscuits too, with our picnic rug and had a an awesome adventure with our teddies. The educators read the book about " the teddy bear picnic" and sang songs. We all gave some food to our teddies too.
