Year 10 French Excursion

Over the past week or so the year 10 French students have been going in classes to visit a restaurant called Noir. The food was delicious and it gave us all the chance to have a bit more of a taste of French culture.

There was an entrée, main and dessert provided for us in which we had to choose the vegetarian or meat option. The meat option consisted of profiteroles with duck liver pâté for the entrée and confit duck and mushroom ravioli with cinnamon soubise for the main. For the vegetarians, there was a gruyere cheese balls for the entrée and gnocchi for the main. And everyone has a chocolate macaron for dessert. Both were delicious.

The restaurant was beautiful and the staff were very kind to us. They spoke in French and we had to order in French as well which gave us a chance to practice speaking in a more relaxed environment. Overall the day was lots of fun and it was nice to be able to have the experience and get a feel for the French culture rather than just the language.
