NAPLAN - Being Prepared

NAPLAN takes place Tuesday 14th May, Wednesday 15th May and Thursday 16th May for students in Years 7 and 9.

The program assesses literacy and numeracy skills that students are already learning through the school curriculum. Teachers have ensured students are familiar with the test formats and will provide appropriate support and guidance during the tests.

The best way you can help your child prepare for NAPLAN is to reassure your child that NAPLAN tests are just one part of their school program, and to urge them to simply do the best they can on the day, as per the ‘growth mindset’ we encourage in all Staughton students. 

All students in Years 7 and 9 are required to have their ‘Just Right’ reading text with them on each day, and a calculator for the Numeracy test on Thursday so that they can be prepared and ready to give the test their best effort.
