Junior Boys AFL

Football

On a very windy and overcast day, a team consisting of both Year 7 and Year 8 students gelled together to create a united team to play in the Year 8 competition against a strong Bacchus Marsh outfit and a competitive Melton Secondary side.

The boys had looked very good in all of their training sessions, and they managed to bring these skills to the game on Monday. The boys never looked like losing their first game against Melton Secondary, with a great team performance lead by the skipper, Aiden Ficheroux, and Vice Captain, Jack Darling.

The end result was the Staughton boys winning 7.10 to Melton Secondary 1.2.

Goal Kickers: J. Borg, B. Adams, J. Mitchner, M. Hill and D. McDonald.

With the wind flaring up in the second game against Bacchus Marsh, the boys had to dig deep. Unfortunately, the Bacchus Marsh team was too strong for our boys, who put in a valiant effort, only to go down by two kicks.

The end result was the Staughton boys losing 3.2 to Bacchus Marsh 5.

Goal Kickers: J. Darling, E. Donoghueand J. Mitchner.

A huge thank you goes out to Majur Magok, who trained the boys, and to Lachie Donoghue, who umpired the games.

Well done, boys. Congratulations for your efforts.
