Connect Protect Respect

This year our College is continuing our work with Clinical Psychologist Andrew Fuller and a range of external agencies to continue to grow and develop resilient mindsets in all our students. Supporting all students to feel connected, protected and respected is a priority for our College and we have many policies and procedures in place which ensure we can achieve the very best for all our students.

Once such policy that guides much of our work is our Child Safe Policy which can be viewed on our website. The purpose of this policy is to demonstrate the strong commitment of St Albans Secondary College to the care, safety and wellbeing of all students at our school. It provides an outline of the other relevant policies and has procedures and strategies developed to keep students safe from harm, including all forms of abuse in our school environment, on campus, online, and in other locations provided by the school.

Please take some time to look over this important policy.

School Uniform policy

All students of St Albans Secondary College are expected to wear full school uniform every day. The uniform must be worn to and from school, at lunchtime and recess, and on all school excursions. At all times, the manner in which the uniform is worn will reflect pride in the College.

By having a compulsory uniform the College, aims to promote a positive image of our school in the community, encourage a sense of pride and belonging amongst our students, identify our students as belonging to the College and promote an equitable and inclusive learning environment.

This means the uniform:

  • will be clean
  • in a state of good repair
  • appropriately fitted
  • worn without non-uniform garments being visible (only plain white t-shirts are acceptable to be worn under the school polo top or shirt).

If you need support to acquire the correct uniform, please contact your child's coordinator as you may be eligible for support from state schools relief. A full copy of our uniform policy is available on the College Website.

After school Study Club and tutoring

A range of after school supports is available to students. Our school runs an after school Study Club each Thursday afternoon in the Library. Teachers support students in this program, and the school has also partnered with an external agency who will be providing a range of tutors to support students in a variety of subjects. Permission forms are available for students on the Compass News Feed.

Edmund Rice Community and Refugee Services also invites high school students needing help with their studies to attend their weekly tutoring program. Students are matched 1-1 with experienced volunteer tutors to help them with their learning. This program started on Tuesday, 12 February from 3:30 to 5:00pm at the St Albans Community Centre. Contact Gudrun on 0405 901 931 to book a place.

Year 7 camps at Strathbogie

Our Year 7 Camp program to the school camp in Strathbogie kicks off Week 4. All Year 7 classes attend the camp across three days and two nights. The program is designed to help connect students with their environment, while developing a range of important skills some as teamwork, leadership, confidence and resilience. The camp is an important part of students' schooling life and all students are expected to attend.

If you have any questions about the camp program, please contact our Camps Program coordinator, Mr Micallef, or speak with your child's coordinator.
