Loddon Mallee Region Cross-country
On Tuesday June 4, seven students braved the elements to represent our school at the LMC Cross-country at Lord Nelson Park St. Arnaud.
With weather conditions more suited to Snow boarding, the students – Elwyn Carlile, Charlie Chapman, Jemma Cole, Abby Franklin, Tyson Jackson, Kyan Martin and Brodie Roberts competed over 3 or 5 km courses.
Charlie Chapman was the first to compete and lit up Lord Nelson Park with a daring sprint at the start of the 5 km event, but unfortunately could not hold on for the full event. Elwyn and Jemma both competed in the under 16 female event. Jemma finished an outstanding 8th to now qualify for the State finals in July whilst Elwyn missed by just 2 places in qualifying for State level, finishing 14th. Tyson and Brodie ran very well in their age groups. Kyan competed in the under 14 age group and also just missed out on qualifying for the State Final finishing 15th. The course was extremely hilly, with the final hill re-entering Lord Nelson Park, commonly known as ‘Heart-break Hill’, causing difficulties for many of the runners.
Each and every one of these students represented themselves, their families and their school at the highest level and we should all be very proud of their efforts. Students from Mildura to Castlemaine, St Arnaud to Echuca were eligible to participate, so to compete and attain the results that our students achieved was a tremendous effort.
Year 7 Boys Soccer
The Sandhurst Soccer competition was great fun. We started by playing BSE, our second game was against Weeroona and the final game against Catherine McAuley College. Our team was made up of Archie, Spencer, Moby, Malachi, Alex K, Alex B, Xavier, Dan, Ruchi, Oscar and I. We had a cracker of a time, although we lost all our games. The last game was the best we played against CMC and we only lost 0-1. Thankyou to Mr Male for coaching us and Ms Walsh for coming along.

Year 8 Netball
On Tuesday the 28/5/19 8 girls travelled to Bendigo to compete in the Sandhurst inter-school Netball tournament at the Stadium. Our team consisted of Shae, Bonnie, Chloe, Jade, Rachelle, Abbie, Brianna and myself. All of the girls played really well and only just falling short to both Bendigo Senior and Catherine McAuley College. All the girls lifted the intensity and their game ethic when it came to playing Marist, in the end we ended up getting the win and beating them by 9 goals.
Thanks to Mrs.Goodes and Mr. Lourey for assisting us through the day and to Holly for umpiring.
