Celebration Night
One of the most significant events on the Kilvington Grammar School calendar is our annual Celebration Night (Speech Night).
Celebration Night provides the School community with the opportunity to come together to celebrate the Kilvington values we hold dear and recognise our students’ achievements. It is also a time to acknowledge the many people who have contributed to Kilvington’s success.
It is expected that all students from Year 4 to Year 12 attend in full summer uniform, and I trust you and your family will also be able to enjoy an inspiring evening of celebrations.
Tickets:
All students have allocated seating, therefore a ticket is not required. Tickets are complimentary and will be available for Year 12 families from 9.30am on Wednesday 7 November and will be available for Year 4 – Year 11 families from 9.30am on Monday 12 November. An email with a link to purchase tickets will be sent to you at this time.
Initially tickets will be limited to two tickets per family. Additional tickets, if available, will be released on Monday 19 November. Please check online.
The rehearsal for Celebration Night will take place during the day on Friday 23 November at Robert Blackwood Hall. Details regarding the rehearsal will be provided closer to the time.
Donation of Old Mobile Phones and Tablets
This term, our Sustainability and Science Leaders – Zoe, Khanish, Jack and Livinia are organising Kilvington's participation in Zoos Victoria 'They’re Calling On You' Campaign.
This wonderful program involves the donation of old mobile phones and tablets that contain a valuable mineral, Coltan, whose mining contributes to deforestation, habitat loss and the spread of disease to the Eastern Lowland Gorillas of Central Africa.
By recycling, your mobile phones and tablets will not only be saved from landfill, but will also raise important funds for Gorilla Doctors who help treat injured gorillas in Africa. We are so excited to be a part of this initiative and we hope that everyone can get behind it and bring in all their old phones and tablets to donate!
Collection boxes will be available at Junior School, Senior School and Main Receptions from Monday 15 October for the remainder of Term 4.

Exam Stress - Special Report
Students in their final year of school are considered a high-risk group for depression and anxiety. Sleep deprivation, diet and social media are some of the biggest issues faced by this group of teens. Therefore it is vitally important that a student's mental health is looked after as well as their physical health.
There are many strategies that students can implement to help themselves. Parents can provide support, not only emotionally, but also practically by keeping their child well-nourished and encouraging physical activity.
In this special report, parents will find useful tips to support their child during this often stressful time. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered here and we always welcome your feedback.
If you do have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information.
