Congratulations to our 2019 Senior School leaders who were inducted in a special ceremony this week.
Thank you to Cassie De Nardis (peer year 2015) who returned to the School and spoke on leadership, family and friends who attended, our student body for selecting your leaders for 2019, and the outstanding young people who will represent students and the School next year.
Valedictory Church Service
On 24 October we celebrated our Year 12 students at a special Valedictory church service. Each student farewelled their House Dean, lit a candle, shook Jon Charlton's hand and then celebrated with family and friends.
We thank all Year 12s for their special contribution to the Kilvington community and wish them all the very best in the next phase of their lives.

Maths Masterclass
Noah Emons, Year 7
Over two mind-boggling after-school sessions, a few Year 7 and Year 8 students were taken on a spectacular learning experience.
The problems were challenging, but Professor Derek Holton led them in a way that made it feel as though we were simply having fun with our favourite maths teacher.
Both sessions were based on something we had not heard of before - loci, and a mythical character called Gantug. We first looked at Gantug’s treel, a triangular wheel used for his cart, and figured out several loci for that. The following week, we experimented with Gantug’s goat, tied to two posts, and made loci on different distances between the posts, which was interesting work on ellipses.
I would like to thank Professor Derek Holton on behalf of everyone who attended the masterclass. It was an incredible experience and beat coming home and doing homework any day!
'In the Making' VCE Exhibition 2018
Angelina Vadolas, Visual Arts Captain, Year 11
To me, 'In the Making' means developing and growing. It is a journey, a process of learning, discovery and reflectiveness. While each artwork and design piece displayed in our exhibition was a final product, we are 'in the making' for the pathways we choose to travel.
The VCE Exhibition hosted an amazing display of many incredible works from our VCE Units 1-4 Studio Arts, VCD and Media students.
The art works, designs and films were spectacular, and explored and used a range of subject matters, styles and materials and techniques.
Darren Naftal, an honourable architect from DN Architecture, was our special guest speaker. He spoke about his perspective of one’s dreams and achievements, and the journey of development of his life and design work; all reflecting the process of ‘in the making’.
The night was a huge success and thoroughly impressed those who attended. On behalf of all our VCE art students, we would like to thank our families and friends for their support throughout the year and for attending our opening night.
