Year 9

Congratulations!

Welcome to our final edition of the 2020 Newsletter. It has been great to have a space to share the exciting things that happen in Years 9 and 10. I want to congratulate and acknowledge the students, as we all know it has been a tremendously challenging year on a number of fronts, however it has been great to see the dedication many have shown to their schooling.

I want to share a few of the success stories from across the school year, most importantly the perseverance of many students after a number of set backs in the form of lock downs and changing social distancing requirements. It was also great to squeeze a few activities in along the way when possible, including year 9 and 10 challenge days (online), return to school activities and the Houli-Saad academy.

Also worth noting is all the students who accepted awards for being lockdown legends. I am excited to present some awards on Friday to those who have been recognised for their efforts through the school year and remote learning. In saying that, many students may go unrecognised despite their amazing efforts, so a final congratulations to all the year 9 and 10 students for getting through the unique year we have been presented with.

Unfortunately I won't be in this role next year, and will therefore handover to an incoming coordinator. It has been great to see the growth and development of all the students until this point and I look forward to hearing and seeing all the amazing things that the group will do for the rest of their schooling and beyond.

I wish you all the best for the holiday period, a happy and safe new year and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it.
