Performing Arts

It is hard to believe that we are nearly at the end of Term 4 and a new year is just around the corner. The performing arts spaces continue to be a hive of activity with students working on mastering their skill sets. It has been great to see their knowledge and skill levels flourish in this space.

In our music classrooms students have been able to spend a large amount of lesson time on the keyboards, this is where their theory knowledge from remote learning has allowed them to then play a piece of music. Students in Year 7 & 8 can now play a piece on the keyboard with this they are using three different parts of their brain at once! I have been incredibly proud of their dedication to this and below are some photos of them in action. Well done!

In our drama spaces students have continued to talk about the dramatic elements and how these can be seen in different text forms. Students can now end their year in these classes being able to identify elements and how they can impact the way a viewer interprets different texts.

Our dance classes continue to encourage our students to be confident in how they move and also how to follow a routine. We know that in 2021 these programs will be able to continue to grow and students will learn skills that will provide them with a sense of confidence and achievement. We look forward to continue creating moments in these areas that students will be impacted by.

“Art doesn’t give rise to anything in us that isn’t already there. It simply stirs our curious consciousness and sparks a fire that illuminates who we have always wanted to be.”― Kamand Kojouri
