Soil Your Undies Citizen Science Project

Year 7 and Year 9 Science classes spent a week burying pairs of underwear in topsoil to be a part of an Australia-wide citizen science project called “Soil your undies”. The project is being run by University of New England’s Dr Oliver Knox and CottonInfo and will investigate soil health in a variety of locations across Australia. The clean 100% white cotton undies will be left under the topsoil for two months and then returned to the University of New England. The undies will be used to collect data on soil health by measuring the level of decomposition of each pair of underwear.
