MARLI WINS POETRY PRIZE

There was great excitement this week in Year 8 Laurel English as yet another student took out a coveted Writing Prize. This time Marli,  from Knox 1, won the Access Poetry Prize for her submission in the Shared Stories Anthology, an expansive anthology of creative works by students from Catholic schools across Victoria. The anthology forms part of the permanent collection of the State Library of Victoria.

Marli’s powerful poem, titled What lies beyond the red door? was selected out of all poetry submitted and along with now being a published poet, Marli receives a winner’s certificate and a $100 gift voucher of her choice. Marli will record a video reading of her poem to be played at the Shared Stories online launch in late November. We congratulate Marli, and each of the Nazareth College students who contributed their beautiful words and images to this wonderful celebration of student voice. Copies of the Shared Stories Anthology will be available to read in the Resource Centre.
