Wellbeing Report

November is always a busy time of the year and this year, thanks to COVID-19, it has been even more so!
In Extended Pastoral, our students have been participating in sessions based on the theme of Respect. In particular, they have been looking at aspects of Cyber Safety, Digital Citizenship and Digital Reputations. We take the use of our devices for granted. We rely on them to complete so many of our daily tasks. We know that our students are even more savvy about all things technical than perhaps their parents and teachers are (especially those of my vintage). It is with this in mind, that we need to be constantly vigilant about what our students are doing on the myriad of online platforms. Many issues that we encounter as a Wellbeing Team are often the result of unacceptable behaviours online. Technology has many advantages, but there are also many issues that can arise as a result of its use. Always be prepared to block and/or report unacceptable content.
The government has an excellent website that has a wealth resources for teachers and parents:
If your child has had any issues that need to be addressed, always feel free to contact their Pastoral Teacher.
